• When To Get 1st Registration

    At some time we are going to need to sell my mother in law's house to pay for her care home fees.
    She bought the house as a new build for cash ie no mortgage in the 1970's it is unregistered.
    We have the original title deed / conveyance plus searches from then and have powers of attorney.
    Our question is: Is it necessary or desirable to get the house 'Registered' before it has to be sold.
    Or better and acceptable to sell as unregistered but with proof of title?
    Which is the less costly option if either are possible?
