• Tenant, Buying A Property On An Ancient Family Owned Estate, Finds A Piece Of The Land Is Unregistered.

    I have been renting a property on an historical estate owned by the same family since 1500. The property is now going through solicitors and the sellers solicitor realised (after 8 weeks) that there is a small section of land that they are selling, that is not registered. This is my first house purchase and they are recommending indemnity insurance which ties me up amazingly on what I can and cannot do on what will be my land. My solicitor, though it will mean I will not then, qualify for the stamp duty holiday, recommends I insist that they claim Adverse Possession but it has only been in ownership of that family since time memorial. I am the house`s first buyer. What would your recommendation be
