    I have lasting POA as my wife has dementia and we need to seek a mortgage or loan against the property I was thinking about interest only retirement mortgage. the property is currently free and clear and has no mortgage attached. What do I ned to do to get a mortgage against the property?

    Speak with a mortgage adviser.

    It is possible to sign a mortgage deed under power of attorney but not advised. If the lender or law firm acting does not permit you to do so, you may need a court application to enter into the deed.
