• Changing Jobs After Completion

By Guest on 04th Sep 2020

I have a mortgage offer and I’m looking to complete in Nov 2020, however, I have been approached by my old manager for opportunity in his firm, is it best I wait to complete before considering a change it will be higher salary and he would be willing to remove and probation period clause. The other point is that I would have to serve 3 months notice by mid Sep 2020, if I was to take the offer with a mid Dec start date. My current completion date is proposed for mid Nov

If you change jobs and your lender finds out, they could amend or retract your mortgage offer, even if you have exchanged contracts. Remember that if you tell your conveyancer or mortgage adviser that you have changed jobs, they may have to pass this information on to your lender! On the other hand, not telling your lender could be a breach of your mortgage conditions/agreement with the lender to disclose all material facts so perhaps better to wait, if they will hold the job open for you.
