    My dad now has dementia and his partner wants him to buy her share of their house so she can leave. We believe he paid £170k and she paid the balance of £75k when they purchased the house. Im told the property was registered in joint names, tenants in common with equal shares but dad has no paperwork. Does he have to pay her 50% of a valuation or can we contest this in anyway? There is unlikely to be a trust deed document in this instance. Thank you for your response.
