• One Property / Two Title Deeds..

    Our home is considered one property as far as the council tax and all utilities are concerned.
    We combined two properties into one detached house approx 10 years ago.
    Unfortunately we did not request an amalgamation of titles at that point. We had a mortgage secured on one of the properties (the other was finance free) and we did not inform the mortgage lender that we had created a 5 bed detached dwelling - the mortgage is still live and is effectively secured against a 3 bed semi detached property that doesn't really exist.
    We are wanting to sell the property.
    If we apply for amalgamation of titles from the Land Registry will our existing mortgage lender be informed?
