• My Mum Has Given Us A Large Sum Of Money To Buy A House For All 3 Generations To Live In. The Mortgage Is Only In My Husbands Name, Can We Add Myself And My Mums Names To The Land Registry Documents.

By Guest on 13th Dec 2018

We have just bought a house and mum lent us half the money but had to sign a letter to say she had no claim in order to get the mortgage. The mortgage is in the sole name of my husband as the main earner and only one due to his age able to get 25yr year mortgage. Can mums and my names be added to the Land registry documents to give us some kind of tie to the property?

Not directly without lender consent is the brief answer, but he can execute a deed of trust to give your mum and yourself a beneficial interest if he wishes.
