• Law Regarding Allocated Parking Spots That Aren't Used

By Guest on 21st Jun 2023

Our neighbours have 2 allocated parking spots, but they've also converted their front garden into a 3rd space. They never use the 2 allocated ones but are always very quick to have ago at anyone using them, even delivery drivers. This week after one such incident the came out and repainted the lines around the spot, but in doing so extended the space so that it now technically extends over the exit of our front path. If a vehicle decided to park in the space, and not move all the way forward as the space has now been extended, we wouldn't be able to get off our property as the vehicle would be in the way. I think the allocated spaces come with the deeds to the house, but what happens if you don't use them, can they be reallocated to someone else? Even just one as they now technically have 3 allocated spots? Is there anything they can do if we just start to use their allocated spaces that they're not using?
