• How Can We Get A Second Charge Removed From Our Title Deeds?

By Guest on 08th Dec 2018

We have just made the final payment on our mortgage and applied for a copy of the title deeds from Land Registry. We have found there is a second charge on our house by National Westminster Bank dating back to 1991. My husband has a vague recollection that we borrowed about £5000 to pay towards our business costs around this time. The business was made insolvent around 1998 and my husband never worked again as he was disabled, and is now a state pensioner. There were no assets from the business. NatWest have never asked us for any repayments, and we only have a vague recollection of it - we have no paperwork we can find. Is it possible to apply to have the second charge removed from the deeds as we are hoping to gift the house to our daughter in the near future?

The first step would be to contact Natwest and ask them to remove it. If that does not work please give us a call for further advice and assisting in Removing A Charge - 03333122221 - [email protected]
