• Transferring Title Deeds

    My sister and me have inherited mums house and are waiting probate. We have agree that I will keep he house and she will take money for her share. Do we need to employ a conveyancer or can we do this ourself.

    Option 1 (Do it yourself) - Complete form TR1 (or AS1 if appropriate) and file it with AP1 at the Land Registry and a certified copy of the grant of probate. You'll also need a signed Form ID1 for each of you. You can expect about £250 of legal fees for the certification and Form ID1 - prices will of course vary by firm.

    Option 2 (Instruct a Conveyancer) - Conveyancer will do everything for you. You can expect about £300 of legal fees - prices will of course vary by firm.
