• Safeguarding Beneficial Interest In Property

    Hi, I have beneficial interest in a property (I inherited a share of the property, along with the legal owner). I am not listed as owner in the register, however I have a restriction in my favour. The legal owner is selling the house, please can you advise how do I safeguard my interest in the proceeds of the sale?

    We would advise you instruct a solicitor or other conveyancer to represent you to ensure your interests are looked after. You can contact us on 03333 122 221 for a quote. If you are not going to instruct one then the DIY solution (not recommended) is to find out the contact details for the seller's lawyer and ask them for an undertaking or similar to send you your share of the sale proceeds on completion.
