• Transferring Money To Solicitor

By Guest on 06th Nov 2015

    Hi
I wish I would have found you website earlier. We are at the stage of sending money over to solicitor either 10% or the whole amount to save fees. I am worried about what guarantees a convetyancing firm can offer supposing they run off with the money, how secure are they? Any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated, my mum has worked her whole life and I have tried to do the best to help her so she dont make mistakes

Hello and thank you for your question. You can check with the Law Society that your solicitor is registered or with the council for licensed conveyancers if they are licensed conveyancers. All firms that practice conveyancing have to be registered with one or the other of these two bodies so if they are not then they are a fraudulent firm. . Assuming they are registered then in the very unlikely event that they do try to defraud you you will be able to rely on the solicitor compensation fund operated by the Law Society.
