• Are There Rules For The Amount Of Notice I Should Get To Move Into A Property I'm Purchasing?

    I am a first time buyer and am currently renting a property until the process is complete. I've been advised of a completion date of one week ahead and requested to transfer the funds in order to complete by the due date. Yet, my conveyancer has advised mt not to hand in my notice to the current landlard yet. Are there any rules that protect me in terms of having enough notice to plan this transition? I feel I'm being left out with very short notice and end up with 2 properties to manage pay bills, rent etc.

    It all depends in the terms of the contract you have signed for the purchade of your new home and what safeguards your solicitor was able to negotiate with the seller.
