• Buying Freehold House From Receiver

By Guest on 13th Apr 2021

Myself and partner are first time property buyers who saw and liked a new completed build freehold terrace house (London). The sale was through an agent and they explained the seller is a Receiver appointment. I have done some digging through local council and went through the planning permission submission and slso I downloaded the land registry title register and plan. The registered owner is a building company that went into receivership. The new build is completed and according to the title register one terrace unit and a bungalow unit had been sold just before the owner went into receivership.

What sort of liabilities should I watch for should we proceed? I understand I should engage a surveyor for a full inspection as the agent did say the roof needs re-coating due to wrong choice of coating. Are there any liabilities I should ensure is not on me as the buyer and potential owner and point out to our solicitor? Thank you
