I’d like advice as to how to transfer our marital home from one owner, my husband, to two owners - adding myself to the deeds. No money is changing hands. We do have a mortgage which is in my husband’s name. What’s the process and what fees (e.g. stamp duty) will be incurred? Thank you

See my earlier replies to the same query for further info but in brief:

    > Make sure lender approves
    > Hire conveyancer (e.g. Notary Express on 03333 122 221)
    > Fee depends on conveyancer, should be about £400/£500
    > Conveyancer will complete Form TR1 and any Deed of Substituted Security or equivalent required by lender
    > Expect to pay Land Registry about £40
    > Expect to pay SDLT on half the mortgage amount potentially under HMRC assumption of debt rules
