• Adverse Possession

    I was a tenant until February of this year.My landlord, who wants to demolish the property and build a four bedroom house,discovered that part of the property has unregistered land.They now ask me to apply for adverse possession.I had a lease since 1987 but not renewed for the last 15 years.What would happen if I refuse?I thank you in advance for your reply

    You don't have any obligation whatsoever however as long as in the application you only state the facts (don't be pushed into saying something that isn't true) then there is no harm in doing so. If you were of a mind you could charge the landlord for transferring the land to his name if you sucessfully get registered with possessory title
