• Shared Utilities Between Two Leasehold Apartments.

    When dividing a property into two separate leasehold apartments, is it necessary for all the utilities (gas, electric and water) to be separated to pass Building Control regulations?
    If separation of the utilities is necessary to ensure both apartments comply with Building Regs would it be acceptable for one of the apartments to be signed off (with gas electric and water still linked to the other property) until utilities are divided at a later date? If this is possible would it create any problems with getting a mortgage on the signed off apartment?
