If your conveyancer operates the CQS protocol they will not usually supply any documents over 20 years old. If the document is more recent then they will normally obtain it from the council and supply it. There is nothing in law to say the seller must provide a copy of the planning permission, although usually it is the seller who provides the paperwork about the property. The buyer can also contact the council to obtain a copy of a planning permission because it is a public document.
