• Kitchen Moved To Mother Room

By Guest on 04th Dec 2020

We had a kitchen installed in what was the old dining room 25 years ago. All the plumbing was carried out by a qualified CORGi plumber, which involved installing/re routing the water and gas. The waste water discharge was re routed without having to make any changes to the drainage system. I don’t know whether building regs would have been required then but I think they would be nowadays. Is this likely to cause me a problem when I sell the property, and if so what would be the solution.. ?

If building regulations were not required at the time it would be fine (check with your plumber/conveyancer). If building regulations were required but not obtained then given the age of the works you might get away with not having to pay for an indemnity policy but most buyers will accept an indemnity policy for lack of building regulations (often less than £100) in lieu.
