By Guest on 27th Jul 2020

My parents built an extension on the boundary line some 20 years ago, will this cause an issue if we come to sell the house my dad is in his 80s- we currently own the land next to it with his cousins children but they are being difficult. please advise on our best cause of action

As long as the extension is within your land (shown by the red edging) that should be fine. If it meets the red edging check who has the right to maintain that boundary. Also check all relevant planning permissions, building regulations and consents were in place. However, given it has been there over 20 years, issues are unlikely.
