• Indemnity Against Building Wardrobes/update Fireplace With Freeholders Consent

By Guest on 27th Jul 2020

    Hi
I'm looking to sell my property and on re reading my lease I see that I'm not even allowed to put a shelf up without consulting the freeholder, which in this case is Southwark Council. I have over the years put in place 2 x built in wardrobes and changed the fireplace, would Legal Indemnity Insurance cover me for these diy updates or should I be looking at another type of insurance please?
    Many thanks.

Sorry - the title of my thread is incorrect...it should read WITHOUT Freeholder's consent

Indemnity insurance covering breach of covenant in the lease should be fine providing its assumptions are met (for example often it requires the alterations to have taken place more than 6-12 months ago).
