• Complaint Against Conveyancer?

By Guest on 20th Oct 2020

Hi, bought a 1st floor leasehold flat 7 yrs ago. New refurb, high quality laminate and limestone floors with underfloor heating. New freeholder takes over (moves in downstairs) and says lease states we need to carpet throughout (meaning removing built-in cabinets, expensive laminate floor/limestone floor, all underfloor heating, install new soundproofing, new underlay and carpet, new heating, re-install fitted cabinets). My question is, was our conveyancer negligent in not mentioning this when we bought the place? There is no written agreement from between previous lessor/lessee to put in hard floors. Do we have legitimate grounds for complaint? Bought the place because of the lovely floors.....!
