• Can A Share Of Freehold Company Do Their Own Conveyancing

By Guest on 13th Nov 2023

We are in a 3 flat house and own the freehold through a limited company. 1 flat wants to extend the lease to 999 years. The flatowners are sole directors and all agree. Can the 1 flat use their solicitor to complete all the changes without their solicitor being appointed by the company?

Yes, as long as there are no mortgages registered against the freehold. The solicitor for the flat owner cannot advise you on the implications of entering the lease but can draft it, send it to you for signing and register it
