• Separate Solicitor For Lender

    My solicitor has just received our mortgage offer however she has said she can't act for the lender as they always use their own solicitor. she says it will add lots of extra time and paperwork to the case and will delay our completion date by a long way. we are at the drafting of the contract stage and all searches have been done etc and complete. We are worried now that our buyer will pull out of the sale if her assumption is correct about the timescale although she admits she hasn't ever had to work before using a 3rd party solicitor for the lender. Could someone please please give me a rough idea of how much longer this will add onto our June completion date? We were due to complete the 3rd week in June or before up to this happening.
