• Name Is Incorrect At Land Registry

By Guest on 22nd Feb 2017

We are purchasing a property in joint names. One of them has now deceased. His name on the office copies is 'John' and on jis death certificate it is 'Joseph'. What will I need from the sellers solicitors?

You should ask the solicitors to have the deceased removed from the register. They can do this by submitting an application to Land Registry in form DJP. They can then deal with any issues that arise as a result of the discrepancy (they will have to submit the death certificate with the application) so that you don't have difficulty registering your purchase after completion
