The flat I'm purchasing has incomplete title deeds - pages missing - how do I remedy this? Is the onus on the seller to provide a complete copy?

The onus is on the seller but it isn't always possible in practice if the original is lost. If you are talking about the lease then the seller should ask the landlord for a copy of his counterpart (which should be identical to the original). If the landlord doesn't have the counterpart then it might be worth obtaining a copy of the lease of one of the other flats in the block as they should all be in the same form. This isn't the perfect solution and the seller should be prepared to provide an indemnity insurance policy to cover the defect.
