• Do The Names Of All Owners Of Individual Flats Of A Given Property Appear In The Title Register?

By Guest on 03rd Feb 2019

    Dear Free Conveyancing Advice,

I have a question about a title register for an upscale London property. A title register of the address shows, under the "Charges" section, roughly 20 names. I assume these names represent the buyers of individual flats inside the residence. However, I know from news reports that more than 100 units of the roughly-unit residence have been sold, which is far more than the 21 I can see on the register. My question is, when an individual purchases a flat inside a larger property, must that transaction necessarily be listed in the title register?

    Thank you.

Yes but it would be recorded on their individual leasehold register for that flat. The freehold title register you appear to be looking at just shows the names of the original purchasers in the way of details of the original leases.
