• Defect In Title/indemnity Insurance

    I am currently buying a freehold property, the land registry documents show the property as freehold but they also show a leasehold interest and the vendor's solicitor is suggesting that I purchase legal indemnity insurance but as they are the same solicitor's that bought the property as freehold for the current vendor and as they have, up to now, insisted that the property is freehold why can't they fund the indemnity insurance cost by reducing their fees, and therefore the cost of the property, while they correct the title and have the lease interest removed?
