• Why "raising Title For Property To Be Transferred"?

By Guest on 20th Nov 2016

I'm currently studying Healing the past, building a future (March 2015 version) for a research project on "Land Titles"--

Arriving at page 75, I'm puzzled at why "raising title for property to be transferred" and would truly appreciate an in-depth explanation, especially the phrase "raising title" --

Does "raising title" mean "Raising requisitions if issues found in the property title ..."?

As this matter is urgent, I would appreciate a reply as soon as possible.

I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

    Thank you in advance.

    Yours sincerely,

    Jean Petite

This isn't a phrase that is used in conveyancing and we would need some context. Is this in relation to an English or Welsh property? I ask because this site only deals with English law.

    It's a New Zealand property.
