• Boundary Dispute

By Guest on 09th Feb 2018

My house is a terraced house. The boundary runs through the party wall and down the garden (about 5 meters). It is very straightforward. I have a report from a RICS surveyor who confirms this is the case. My neighbour claims this is not the case as when he bought the property the fence was situated at one end about 18 inches within my boundary. I was aware the fence panels were placed within my boundary. There is currently no fence. I wish to sell my property. The difficulty is that a ‘dispute’ now exists which I would need to declare. How will this effect the sale of my property and what can I do to mitigate the risk?
