Our ranking system works by us giving each a conveyancer a rating in three different categories - price, speed and customer satisfaction - depending on how they rate against others on the panel. The lower the number the better, so for example if a firm scores 1 for price this means they are currently the cheapest on the panel, 1 for speed means they have the shortest average transaction time.
The Overall Rank is the average of a firm's scores in the three main categories.
The yellow highlighting shows you at a glance which conveyancer scores highest in each category.
Inevitably the legal fees charged for a transaction and the length of time it is likely to take vary according to the type of transaction being conducted, for example the purchase of a leasehold flat will generally be more expensive and protracted than the sale of a freehold house. For this reason you'll find a different table for each type of transaction and you may find that some firms rank differently depending on the transaction type.
