• Transfer Of Equity Processs

By Guest on 16th Jan 2019

I am in the process of buying my sister out of our equally owned property. We have agreed a price based on local market valuations, I have been approved to take the mortgage on my own by my mortgage provider. The issue I have is that my Sister lives in Dubai and without knowing what the process for a transfer of equity entails, I don't know who I can appoint to best our situation. Can solicitors do things electronically for cases where both parties live in different countries?

A residential property solicitor or conveyancer will be able to do this for you, the documents for your sister to sign can be emailed to her and once signed (and witnessed by an independent adult) she just sends back by recorded post (to track and ensure it gets back).

They will probably need to do an identity check on your sister so she made need to find a Nortary in Dubai to have her identity checked and her ID documents copied and stamped.

Yes; speak with a conveyancer such as Notary Express
