• Gift Of A Garage

By Guest on 29th Jun 2016

My father is 77yrs of age and has a garage that is in the village he lives in and he owns outright - it has a value of approx £20,000. He no longer has a car, but just uses it for simple storage and wishes to continue to do so. The subject has been raised as to whether there would be any problem for my father to gift his garage to me (I do not live in the village nor close by). Is this possible?

Unless there is anything in the title deeds which specifically state that the garage can only be transferred to someone in the locality then this shouldn't be an issue.
