• Refusal To Sign Transfer Deeds

By Guest on 04th Sep 2019

My flat is one of 4, and we have share of freehold. I am selling, but 1 owner will not return the transfer deed. He is basically holding us to ransom to get what he wants in the way the property is managed, because the other 2 owners do not agree with him. Is there anything I can do to save my sale? My solicitor says that legally he cannot be forced to co-operate. Is this right? One person can prevent all other sales in the building??

That is correct. You can apply to the courts though.

He cannot be forced to co-operate but you can potentially apply to court for assistance.
