Does the time-limit apply for a conservatory built more than ten years ago in a conservation area?

The fact that the property is in a conservation area makes no difference from the point of view of building regulations - that would be a planning consideration. The local authority have 1 year following completion of the work to issue an enforcement notice for lack of building regulations approval but after that they can still apply for an injunction preventing use of the conservatory (under s36(6) Building Act 1984) and there is no time limit on this right. The power is rarely, if ever, used in a residential setting.
