• Title Deeds And Mortgage

    Hi,
My wife is named on the mortgage and deeds of her parents house with her parents and brother (4 ppl in total) which she lived in before we got married 6 years ago.
We’ve managed to buy our property 6 yrs ago without any
Issues. Now we’re looking to sell our house and buy a new property but we’ve been told that my wife needs to come off the mortgage on her parents house (she hasn’t contributed to the mortgage since moving out). Does this also mean she needs to be removed from the title deeds or can she still remain?

    Regards,
    Mr A

If the lender is happy to release her from the mortgage it can do so without changing the title deeds. The lender may require her to be removed from the deeds as well, but they will decide. Speak with your mortgage adviser.
