• Lease Shows On Charges Register Though My Property Is Recorded As Freehold On Hmlr With Title Absolute

By Guest on 21st Feb 2019

I have come across an issue where my remortgage lenders conveyancing firm say they cannot continue with my remortgage because the property is showing as having a lease ending in 2065 in the charges register, but how can there still be a lease in the title when it shows land freehold from 1982

Your conveyancers will examine the title deeds and advise you on this. A freehold can be subject to a lease.

Not really an answer is it. My conveyancer did not raise this with me as an issue when I bought the property. No another conveyancer for the remortgage bank is raising this as a severe risk.
So I own the freehold and am subject to the lease conditions in the charge register. What happens when the lease expires in 3065?
