    this trust was set up by our grandfather , one of my brothers is saying that were not the legal owners ,even though were named on the deeds of the house

    Yes you are the legal owners. You are trustees of the property and you hold it on trust for whoever the beneficiaries are. This means you have the power to deal with the property (i.e. mortgage it, lease it or sell it) provided you act in the best interests of the beneficiaries and in accordance with any express terms of the trust. You cannot use the property for your own benefit, unless of course you are also beneficiaries of the trust.
