• Transfer Of Equity: Clarity Around Restrictions Revealed In Title Register

By Guest on 28th Jan 2019

Parents transferring their mortgage free home to me (their son). Title Register has revealed 5 charges under section C (Charges Register). Any idea if we need to address them before we can proceed? If so, how does one go about this? The charges are all historic (dated 1923, 1927, 1928, 1930 and 1930). Freesonveyancingadvice hasn't responded to me, maybe you good folk can help. I can't list all the charges as it would take up half a page :(

We would need to see the charges to advise. In a general sense, any charges relating to historic covenants will remain on the register. Any charges relating to a mortgage or similar should be removed. I recommend you instruct a conveyancer to assist.

    Thank you NotaryExpress.

All charges relating to the previous mortgage gave been removed. As you quite rightly mentioned, all that remains are historic covenants. I will do some more reading around the topic and may instruct a conveyancer
