• Do You Know Of A Practice Guide I Can Refer To In The Surrender And Re-issue Of A Lease To Its Original Term ?

My apartment has an unexpired lease of 69 years, and the freeholder informed me that it can be surrendered and re-granted to its original term of 99 years. I propose to act on my own behalf.

    Hello,

Land Registry Practice Guide 28 should help, though if you have a mortgage you will need to instruct a lawyer. Even if you don't have a mortgage you would be well advised to instruct a lawyer as any mistakes you make may not be immediately apparent and may be very difficult to rectify

This is pathetic advice. The Land Regisry Practice Guide 28 is of a very general nature aimed at conveyancers, whereas what I asked is for information on a specific step-by-step guide for a tenant acting independently in the process of surrendering and regranting of a lease to its original term.
