What is a deed variation on a leasehold property I have been given a quote from my solicitor which is why I decided to go with them but now I am being told that if a deed of variation is needed it will be additional cost what does this mean

A deed of variation amends (changes) the lease. It is likely that an issue was identified with the lease which requires rectification (fixing). This is additional work from them and they will charge for it.
